ISBN 1921362073 Sverre Berg left Norway in 1913 to get shipping experience in Glasgow and Nantes. While he was in Glasgow war broke out where he witnessed the devatation on the ships and ship owners by the U Boats. In 1916 he travelled across Russia and Siberia just before the Russian Revolution to Hong Kong. He spent 24 years there part of which he was Norwegian Consul . It all ended in 1941 when as part of the Hong Kong Volunteers he was wounded and became a POW.
